Western Training: Los Angeles Area, CA

Congratulations on your interest in becoming a Facilitator of the Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium. The entire process of becoming a Facilitator is a rich, focused, challenging and, hopefully, deeply rewarding journey and learning experience. We heartily invite you to jump in and sign on for the next training.

The Facilitator Training begins with a preparation period, followed by a three-day residential training, and a final non-residential two-day “practicum,” usually on a weekend. Below are some of the specific aspects of the training program that you may want to know about as you consider becoming a Facilitator.

Preparation Period

The Preparation Period begins as soon as you register for the Training, and immerses you in some of the information and concepts that form the heart of the Awakening the Dreamer Symposium. During this time, you will read some of the materials that inspired the Symposium, do some research and investigation, and re-examine your own Daily Practices—among other activities.

Your registration, and your Preparation Period, can begin whenever you are ready, as long as there is enough time remaining to complete the assignments before the initial training session. Given that people prepare and read at different speeds, the trainees so far have devoted very different amounts of time to preparing themselves.

Initial Training Session

The initial session of the Facilitator Training consists of a three-day residential training weekend. The Western Training begins with dinner at 6:00 pm on Thursday, September 25th and completes at about 5:00 pm on Sunday, September 28th. The location of this weekend training will take place at the Mary & Joseph Retreat Center in Ranchos Palos Verdes, CA. www.maryjoseph.org.

Regional Practicums

The final portion of the Facilitator Training will be a two-day, non-residential "practicum," which involves putting on a complete Symposium along with your fellow trainees. The practicum will be held in smaller, local regional groups; you may participate in the location that is closest to your home or most convenient for you—you need to attend only one to complete the training. The specific locations and dates of the various practicums will be decided during the initial training session.

Cost

Tuition for the Training is $250, including all materials, covering both the initial training session and the regional Practicum. The price for room and board is $280 for a double room and $360 for a single room. If you would like to commute, the day use fee is $115, which includes all shared lunches and dinners for the training. Scholarships are possible for those who need financial assistance.  Please email requests for scholarship applications to Reena Shah at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
